Modern "options" are useless for professional DVD and BD Authoring beyond simple amateur looking menus and first-play discs like Compressor and Toast Titanium. Even Sony killed its "DoStudio" BD authoring program (Windows). This system is "air-gapped" from the internet so the functionality cannot be removed by Apple or Adobe via an unwanted "update". Menu animations and button highlights are created in After Effects and Photoshop. We still have DVD clients at our shop (fully authored, replication-ready DDP Masters) and in order to make them we have an old legacy iMac system that still runs the Final Cut Studio and DVD Studio Pro, as well as the CS5 version of Encore. Unfortunately, the pro/consumer DVD options are dead.
